One Man's Journey

An intimate account by a very special young man:

I am one of five children raised by migrant farmers in the rural hillsides of Tumalog Oslob, Cebu. Going to college and pursuing a career outside of my village was only a dream. But with the encouragement of the good Sisters of the Regina Coeli Educational Program, I staying in school, graduated and went on to CTU-MOALBOAL College.

Eventually I took an entrance exam for the Southwestern University Maritime Regiment - as part of their “Study Now - Pay Later” program. Luckily I passed and achieved my Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering.

Today I am an OIC-Marine Engineer in the Philippines, by virtue of three things that helped me overcome my personal struggles - prayer, discipline and the faith put in me by the Mary Queen of Heaven Missionaries. I will always remember that God is the center of all situations and I trust God with all my heart. We are the author of our own story and I now aspire to not only make a living, but also to make a difference.

OIC-MARINE Engineer, 2020
