Getting oriented to life at the Home of Love

At the age of eight, she was abused by a family member, and soon after, her mother tragically committed suicide, leaving Anna and her seven siblings behind. She began skipping school and ended up being trafficked after befriending girls on the streets of Cebu City, Philippines. This continued until she was approached by Sister Spe of Mary Queen of Heaven Missionaries one year ago at the age of 14. A school principal heard about the Sisters mission of rescuing young victims of prostitution and sought help for Anna. After numerous conversations and many tears, Anna was convinced to leave her "friends" and come to live at the MQHM Home of Love Rescue Center.

Anna has thrived in the loving environment provided each and every day during her first year at the Center. She is reported to be an excellent student and discovered her God-given talents in art, music, and dance, all while learning about the love and comfort of Jesus Christ. For the next four years, Anna will receive a complete education and benefit from skill-building programs that will prepare her to re-enter society and pursue a bright future. This is truly God's work.
