Do You Know Who I Am?
“I'm your daughter, your grandson, your niece. The same.
I'm just caught in the grips of poverty, unable to go to school for lack of supplies and means and am at risk to handlers who roam our villages looking for children to exploit. That's my only difference. All I need is a chance.”
Our Regina Coeli Education Program currently has 18,000 beneficiaries (6000 more than last year) registered for the 2023/24 school year, and they all need school supplies. As promised, we reached so many more this year by traveling across the islands, large and small. The Sisters spent the last six months seeking out the most remote provinces, 28 in all, to register children who literally waited for hours with their parents to become beneficiaries. We have been doing this for 16 years and have placed over 60,000 children in our program!
Now we need your help to meet the demand for notebooks, pens, pencils, school bags, and essentials. It's as simple as that.
We are also happy to report that our Education Assistance program works for all our programs. My Bonita Home for Girls and the Home of Love Livelihood Center boast many graduates this year, and fifteen are heading for college.
Give a chance to kids who are just like your daughter, your grandson, your niece, except for the misfortune of poverty.
Together let's change their world.
A Message from Mother Superior
We all have heard the phrase 'knowledge is power', and empowerment leading to academic wisdom is essential - now more than ever. One bag of supplies for a child relieves parents in ways you can't imagine. In addition to school materials, we make sure we are intentional in finding students who are in most need of help and we never take our focus off giving parents comfort, dignity, and assistance as they provide their children with a happier and safer life. The Sisters work closely with local governments, educators, and parishes to build communities where would-be exploiters are not tolerated.
These parents want what all parents want . . . their children to thrive. Today we ask you to assist us in these efforts. Traffickers and abusers will not succeed in their ungodly recruitment if we can keep kids safely in school. God needs all of us as instruments of divine purpose, and we pray with our Queen of Heaven, Mary most Holy, and St. Joseph that the seeds we plant today lead to a springtime of holiness and peace.
Lord Jesus, save us daily. Amen
In Christ, Ma. Corazon Salazar, MQHM, Superior General, Mary Queen of Heaven Missionaries
